About Setagaya
Setagaya is a quiet, sought-after ward where calm residential streets are dotted with stylish cafes and independent shops. Shimokitazawa has the subculture feel of vintage stores and live music venues, while Sangenjaya is full of places the neighbourhood eats at. Along the Tama River at Futako-Tamagawa you can spend an unhurried hour on the green riverbank and forget the city entirely. Todoroki Valley, the only ravine within Tokyo's 23 wards, is a treat for anyone who likes being outdoors. Shibuya is about 10 minutes by train and Shinjuku about 20.
