About Sapporo

Sapporo, the main city of Hokkaido, offers urban polish and vast nature in equal measure. Odori Park is a short walk away, and historic landmarks including the Sapporo Clock Tower and the former Hokkaido Government Office (the Red Brick Office) are within walking distance, so even a simple wander tells you a lot about the city's history. At night Susukino — the largest entertainment district north of Tokyo — fills with neon and more than 3,500 restaurants and bars serving ramen, jingisukan, and seafood, a completely different city from the daytime one. Seasonal events such as the Sapporo Snow Festival add another reason to visit. New Chitose Airport is about 36 minutes from Sapporo Station by JR Rapid Airport, and the flight from Haneda takes about 1 hour 35 minutes, or about 1 hour 45 from Narita.
